How a Placement Works

From the brief to an engineer working in your sprints, without the months a direct hire takes.

  1. 1

    Role brief

We agree the seniority, the stack, the working hours overlap and what the person must deliver in the first month — the detail that decides whether a placement works.

  2. 2

    Shortlist

You receive a small number of profiles, each already screened technically, with an honest note on where each is strong and where they are not.

  3. 3

    Your interview

You interview them yourself and make the call. Nobody joins your team on our say-so, and swapping a candidate out at this stage costs nothing.

  4. 4

    Onboarding

They join your tools and rituals — your board, your repositories, your stand-ups — and work as part of your team rather than reporting into a black box.

  5. 5

    Ongoing review

Regular check-ins on delivery and fit, and a replacement if the match is wrong. Engagement length and notice are set in the contract, not improvised.

Engagement Models

Different problems need different arrangements:

Dedicated team

A standing squad working only on your product, with a lead who owns delivery.

Team extension

One or several engineers embedded into your existing team and reporting to your manager.

Specialist for a phase

A short engagement for a specific need — a security review, a migration, a performance problem.

Project-based

We take a scoped deliverable end to end and hand it over on completion.

Overflow capacity

Extra hands for a deadline, released again when the peak passes.

Technical leadership

An architect or lead for teams that have builders but no one setting direction.

How We Screen

Every candidate goes through a technical screen against the stack they claim, a practical exercise reviewed by an engineer rather than a recruiter, and a conversation about how they work with a team — because the failure mode in team extension is rarely a lack of technical skill.

Engineers based in Saudi Arabia and across the GCC work in your time zone, in Arabic and English, and are used to the compliance context here: ZATCA e-invoicing, NCA cybersecurity controls, and data residency requirements that surprise teams hired from outside the region.

Common Questions About Team Extension

Who manages the engineer day to day?+

You do. They sit in your stand-ups, take work from your board and follow your review process. We stay involved on the contract, the payroll and the performance conversation, so you manage the work rather than the employment.

What if the person is not the right fit?+

Say so early and we replace them. The notice period and replacement terms are written into the contract at the start, so neither side is negotiating under pressure later.

Who owns the code they write?+

You do. IP assignment and confidentiality are part of the agreement before anyone starts, and the work lives in your repositories from day one.

Do they work remotely or on site?+

Either. Most engagements are remote with regular on-site days in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam when the work needs it. Full-time on-site is possible and is agreed in the contract.

How is this different from outsourcing a project?+

With team extension you keep ownership of the product, the priorities and the architecture; we supply capacity. With a project engagement we take a scoped deliverable and return it finished. Teams that want control choose the first.

How quickly can someone start?+

It depends on the stack and seniority. Common profiles move faster than scarce ones, and we will tell you at the briefing whether the role is realistic in the timeframe you have or whether the scope needs adjusting.
